By combining LGE’s expertise in in-vehicle communication modules with Honeywell’s intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS), the partnership enhances protection against cyber threats. Honeywell’s IDPS technology, supported by its cloud-based security operations center, helps detect and block attacks that could infiltrate a vehicle's internal network through various entry points. The joint solution ensures vehicle safety by identifying and validating software commands and network data from connected vehicles. LGE’s electronic gateway, Telematics Control Unit (TCU), and Electronic Control Units (ECUs) can detect and report anomalies caused by mechanical issues or malicious attacks. Meanwhile, Honeywell’s network security software monitors for unusual activity within the vehicle’s network. Additionally, the cloud-based security operations center collects and analyzes real-time or scheduled data from vehicles, enabling proactive threat detection and providing manufacturers with effective mitigation strategies. Honeywell brings over six decades of experience in the automotive industry as a leading Tier 1 supplier, integrating its deep knowledge of critical industrial safety into its software solutions.
