In 2017, the color TV market saw a flurry of data releases. While the year-end figures for China’s color TV market were not entirely impressive, the trend toward high-end, large-screen TVs was firmly established by 2018. Hisense TV, in particular, showed strong performance both domestically and internationally, raising expectations for its future growth.
According to the latest weekly report from Zhongyi Kang, as of December 31, 2017, Hisense TV achieved a sales volume of 15.7% and a market share of 16.8%, ranking first in the industry. This marked another year of dominance, with Hisense holding the top position for 14 consecutive years. The company's lead over competitors continued to widen, reinforcing its position as a market leader.
On the global stage, Hisense performed even more impressively. Customs data revealed that Hisense’s TV exports grew by 30.8% year-on-year through November 2017, far outpacing the industry average. In South Africa, Hisense captured 22.4% of the market, while in Australia, it reached 19.6%, both securing the top spot. These markets have become key bases for Chinese brands, thanks to Hisense’s long-term investment and strategic presence.
As 2018 approached, the World Cup brought new opportunities for Hisense. The company had already made significant strides in high-end product development. It launched a range of laser TVs in sizes such as 80-inch, 88-inch, 100-inch, 120-inch, and even 150-inch, showcasing the unique immersive experience that laser technology offers, especially in large-scale events.
