The first wireless LAN flight has less content and the client is simple

In the morning of November 15th, Air China today launched CA1405, the first domestic wireless LAN flight, to execute the Beijing-Chengdu route. Passengers can log in to the Air China LAN page in a wireless LAN environment. From the experience of passengers, since they have just tried it, the content is currently too small, and the chat client is relatively simple.

Air China LAN login interface

The "E chat" chat interface provided by the wireless LAN is relatively simple

LAN available in level flight

At 8 am, flight CA1405 took off on time. At this time, the iPad that comes with Sina Technology Editor did not find WiFi signal. At this time, the WiFi signal is turned off.

When the plane rose to an altitude of about 3000 meters, the iPad could already search for a wireless signal called "AIR ChINA". As the aircraft ascended to 9520 meters, the aircraft broadcast began to prompt passengers to use wireless LAN.

At 8:30, the editor of Sina Technology opened the notebook to search for the wireless LAN, and the signal strength showed 80%.

As the first wireless LAN flight in China, on the back of the chair of each seat, in addition to safety instructions, there is also an A4 paper-sized "e-journey-a new generation of in-flight network system passenger operation guide" You can enter the relevant URL to enter the navigation page. Passengers need to fill in the nickname and seat number to log in to the visitor system. If the passenger has an Air China card number, they can also log in with the card number. After logging in with a sensible card number, you can place an order on the plane, and visitors need to register again to conduct business activities such as booking air tickets.

Interestingly, if a passenger uses multiple Internet terminals, such as a notebook and a tablet, the seat number can be shared, but the nickname cannot be shared, and the user needs to log in with another nickname.

Content is better than nothing

Judging from the content provided by the wireless LAN, information and entertainment mainly include news, movies, games, music, and blue sky books. In terms of business, there are mainly shopping malls, booking air tickets, hotels, car rentals, and tourism. There are E chats on social aspects.

After entering the E chat interface, the online passenger's seat number and nickname will be displayed on the right, and you can choose someone to chat with. Judging from the experience, the chat interface for chatting with E is relatively simple, and you can't select someone to chat with accurately at one time. You need to try it several times. The current chat interface also does not have a private chat interface. If you want to chat with someone, you need to click his seat number and nickname again, and chat with everyone will be mixed on the same interface. It is still in the state of the Internet chat room in the early stage of Internet development.

In terms of other information and entertainment, passengers currently reflect relatively little content. At present, they only have a frame, and there is still a lot of content to be filled. For example, there are only 27 movies and 60 books. Some movies have names but no content.

Asked about a passenger's feelings about the wireless LAN environment, he said, "At present, the interface is a bit silly, and the content is relatively small. The movies inside are slightly older, not as many as the movies I brought myself."

However, as a new thing that has just started, there are various problems that can be understood in the early stages of development, and chatting is better than nothing.

Wireless LAN will not interfere with the aircraft

Beijing Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Co., Ltd. was responsible for the aircraft WiFi network reconstruction task. A person in charge of the company introduced that the first wireless LAN flight was served by Air China by setting up a main equipment center on the ground, and four wireless access points were set up in the cabin , 8 antennas. The electromagnetic compatibility test has been done before and after the aircraft modification, and will not cause interference to the aircraft's flight communication system.

It is understood that the current wireless LAN flights are only in trial operation on the Beijing-Chengdu route, and will be rolled out on other flights in the future, and will also be operated on international flights in the future.
