Cree launches next-generation color LEDs, new high-performance LEDs to achieve double lm/$

Clarion (Nasdaq: CREE), a market leader in LED lighting, today announced the commercialization of commercial XLamp Â® XB-D color LEDs and XLamp Â® XM-L color LEDs. High-performance color LEDs provide luminaire manufacturers with discrete LED and multi-color LED options, providing a more cost-effective solution for a wider range of applications such as construction, vehicle and display lighting.

Cree XLamp Â® XB-D color LEDs provide up to lm/$ of color LEDs in an XB package, providing 40% higher light output than XLamp Â® XP-E color LEDs. The combination of high performance and small size of XLamp Â® XB-D color LEDs makes color mixing easier, while fewer LEDs are used to achieve lower system cost. Customers can now implement a full range of colors in a single XB package, including white and color from 2,700K to 6,200K.
