This article introduces an ARTU-J16 with 16 remote control contact outputs. The device is connected to the host computer via the RS485 bus as a remote relay output module for receiving computer commands, performing remote control or automatic control of the system. The ARTU-J16 16-channel remote control unit is designed with ATMEL's ATmega128, a single-chip dual-channel RS485 communication, data processing, event record access, display and 16-way relay normally open contact output state control. ATmega128 is an 8-bit RISC architecture high-speed low-power microcontroller from ATMEL. It can achieve 16MIPS system performance at 16M clock frequency, 128k flash ROM, 4k EEPROM, 4k system SRAM; expandable 64k external memory; Road UART communication port. At the same time, the chip has JTAG online programming port, which is convenient for users to debug, which reduces development cost. 53 programmable I/O ports can hook up enough peripheral devices.

DIP switch setting input

The DIP switch provides the user with a simplified man-machine interface for setting the address, baud rate, data format and other setting functions in RS485 communication. The 10-bit data port of the DIP switch (SW1) is connected to the 10k resistor pull-up. To Vcc, the circuit uses a 74HC244 (IC5) data buffer to transfer the state of the DIP switch to the 8-bit data bus, and the remaining two data lines are directly connected to the I/O port of the CPU (see Figure 2).

communication method

The communication method adopts the dual RS485 mode. The debugging and setting and the communication part of the host computer are physically divided into two paths without mutual interference, which effectively prevents possible misoperations (see Figure 3).
