What did the "Wukong" actually "see"?

The results of this publication are based on 530 days of data, and 1.5 million high-energy electrons were selected from 2.8 billion high-energy particles. The observed energy range is from 25 GeV to 5 TeV.

The electronic cosmic ray energy spectrum of the Wukong

First of all, the energy measurement range of the Wukong is significantly higher than other space projects in the world, opening up a new window for cosmic observation. AMS-02 (Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer) is less than 1 TeV, Fermi is probably below 2 TeV, but we are close to 5 TeV, and the extension of this window is especially important for science.

The high-precision cosmic ray electron spectroscopy (red data points) obtained by the "Wolf" satellite work in 530 days, and the measurement results (green dots) of the Alpha magnetic spectrometer led by Mr. Ding Yuzhong and the US Fermi satellite measurement results (Blue Dot) Comparison. The second is to measure the highest purity of TeV electrons, that is, to see clearly, the accuracy of the spectrum is the highest. Therefore, we say that “Wukong has obtained the world's most accurate high-energy electron spectrum of the universe”, which has the lowest background and the smallest systematic error.

For the first time in physics, it directly measured the inflection of the energy spectrum at 1 TeV, because after more than a decade of observation, the anomalies of high-energy electrons in the universe were found below 1 TeV, and there was an excess. Whether this excess comes from dark matter or special astrophysics, it is still not clear until now. Only by measuring this turn and dropping it down can we judge its physical source. We measured this "drop" and clarified the energy spectrum behavior of TeV electrons, providing critical data for determining whether high-energy electron cosmic rays below TeV are derived from dark matter annihilation.

That is to say, in the past, the international spending of so much money, tens of billions of people went down, saw the anomaly, what are these abnormalities? This time, we can basically determine this through our data.

Scientific observation has a special nature. It is supposed to be A, but it is often found that B, "planting beans and getting beans" is a common thing in science.

We found a remarkable phenomenon in the high-energy segment. This is the point where the traffic suddenly went up and down. This point is something we did not foresee. It can't be explained by the existing physics knowledge.
