Samsung announces Bixby, a voice assistant, officially landed in the US

Electronic enthusiasts at 8 o'clock in the morning: Samsung Bixby voice assistant, which has experienced multiple bounces, is finally ready. Today Samsung announced that it has officially pushed the Voice function that the voice assistant has been missing to Galaxy S8 and S8 + users in the US market. Prior to this, the Voice function has been in the testing stage in the US market. Samsung said that user feedback has greatly improved Bixby's response time, and at the same time, the wording it can understand has also increased significantly.

It is reported that more than 100,000 American users participated in the functional test of Bixby Voice, and they issued more than 4 million voice commands. After officially going online, Bixby can also read aloud the messages and emails received by the mobile phone.

Bixby is the flagship function of Samsung ’s flagship Galaxy S8. For this reason, Samsung has specially designed a physical button to wake up the assistant. Of course, users can also wake it up by saying “hi Bixby”.

Similar to the voice assistants on the market, Bixby can set alarms and send messages, but its real power lies in its deep integration with the Galaxy S8, through which users can directly control many system-level functions. Samsung said that Bixby, which uses deep learning technology, will become smarter over time because it can grasp the user's preferences and ways of speaking.

From the performance of the test stage, Bixby's Voice function is still relatively rough. I don't know if it can meet the user's requirements after improvement during this period.
