DPI zoom update problem? It is better to change the settings

When DIP scaling is optimized for Windows 10, it feels much smoother and more user-friendly. After the fall update, I noticed that the display looks more refined, especially after scaling—text edges appear softer and more rounded. However, there's one thing to be aware of: if you enable DPI scaling in your system, using keyboard shortcuts on the desktop can become tricky or even unresponsive at times.

Similar to other system-level issues, some users end up turning to the registry to fix things manually. It might sound a bit intimidating, but it’s actually straightforward once you know where to look.

To get started, press Win + R and type "regedit" to open the Registry Editor. Then navigate to the following path:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

On the right side, look for a DWORD (32-bit) value called "ForegroundLockTimeout." If it doesn’t exist, create it manually. Set its value to 200000 in decimal or 30D40 in hexadecimal.

Once done, log out of your account or restart your computer. After that, you should be able to use keyboard shortcuts again without any issues when working with desktop icons and system operations. This tweak helps restore responsiveness, making the experience much smoother for high-DPI displays.
