New LED industry subsidies or concentrated in the downstream

On February 17, the "Semiconductor Lighting Energy-saving Industry Plan" was released. "Planning" clarifies the promotion of LED lighting energy-saving industry, the average annual growth rate of about 30% in 2015 reached 450 billion yuan, of which 180 billion yuan of LED lighting applications.

"Planning" pointed out that it is necessary to gradually increase financial subsidies for LED lighting product promotion efforts, in the commercial lighting, industrial lighting and other fields to focus on LED lighting product demonstration applications and promotion, timely bulb lamp equal large-scale, mature technology LED lighting products include subsidies. Of the companies that enjoy subsidies for LED lighting products, only the Sanan Optoelectronics Group received financial subsidies of more than 200 million yuan for “three science and technology” in 2012.

Sanan Optoelectronics is an upstream and mid-tier company that is mainly engaged in the production of LED chips and application products. At present, the performance of the company's chips has been basically the same as that of Chinese Taiwanese companies. The person in charge of the company gave his own interpretation of the series of financial subsidy policies proposed in the “Planning”. The person in charge of the company said in an interview that in the future, LED's financial subsidies will mainly focus on downstream applications. Through the subsidy to the downstream to increase the demand for LED, so as to guide the development of the upstream industry.

Traditional energy-saving lamps led transformation LED

"Planning" shows that in 2010, the market share of general lighting products was 27.50%, the market share of traditional high-efficiency lighting products was 72.3%, and LED lighting products were only 0.2%. The 2015 development goals are: the market share of general lighting products dropped below 10%, the traditional high-efficiency lighting products stabilized at around 70%, and the LED lighting product share increased to over 20%. The market space for general lighting products will be replaced by LEDs, and the market for traditional high-efficiency lighting products will remain at the current level.

Under the guidance of the policy, traditional energy-saving lamp manufacturers will try to transform their business into a trend. As the largest energy-saving lamp manufacturer in Asia, Sunshine Lighting has 15% of the energy-saving lamps in the domestic market. Facing the fiery development of the LED lighting industry, the company is also trying to transform. Company personnel said in an interview, do not rule out the main business to move closer to the LED industry.

At present, Sunshine Lighting subsidiary Xiamen Sunshine engages in LED energy-saving industry business. In recent years, the company's sales of LED lamps have increased dramatically. In 2011, the sales revenue of the company's LED business was only 50-60 million yuan. In 2012, its sales revenue was nearly 400 million yuan. In 2013, the company expects LED sales revenue will reach 6-8 billion yuan.
