LED lighting system design method [hardware design + software design]

As a display device, LED has been increasingly used in more fields due to its high luminous efficiency, long service life, and easy control. Glossary

Color image points: In order to make the LED light display in color, it is necessary to form one pixel by at least two different color LEDs. Red, green and blue LEDs can be matched in a variety of ways depending on the brightness and gray level requirements, such as:

a) 1 red LED + 1 green LED + 1 blue LED, 3 LEDs display 256 grayscale colors.

b) 2 red LEDs + 1 green LED + 1 blue LED, 4 LEDs

RGB: refers to three types of LEDs: red, green, and blue.

LPD6803: It is a driver chip specially designed for LED lighting system. It has built-in SUPER-PWM, which can generate three-channel constant current drive and gray-scale modulation output.

Types of LED lights

point Light

Technical features: Apply the display principle of LED color screen, and reduce its pixel cost to reduce the overall cost. Each module is a color pixel (RGB).

Application environment: bar, KTV, stage, shopping mall, exhibition hall. As a music rhythm display, background wall decoration, etc.

LED rainbow tube

Technical Features: Each tube consists of multiple color pixels (RGB), each of which can independently produce 256 levels of color change. Application environment: decorative lighting in different places such as overpasses, river guardrails, and building exterior walls.

LED floor tile

Technical Features: Each module consists of multiple color pixels (RGB), which can control each pixel independently. Application environment: bar, KTV, stage. Decorative lighting as a floor or wall.

LED lighting control chip introduction

The LPD6803 is specifically designed for LED light driver chips with simple control.

Function description:

a. Built-in oscillator, scanning does not need to rely on the control board to provide the scan clock.

b. 2 control lines, simple control and wiring.

c. The data clock can be up to 25MHz and can have more cascaded outputs.

LED lighting control system hardware design ideas

LED lighting control system mainly includes two parts: pixel point driving unit and control board design.

LED wash wall lamp, as the name implies, let the light like water wash the wall, mainly used for building decoration lighting, and also used to outline the large buildings.Since LED has the characteristics of energy saving, high luminous efficiency, rich color and long life, the washing wall lamp of other light sources is gradually replaced by LED washing wall lamp in 2013.
