In a recent incident, the inspection and quarantine department of Zhejiang Province received notification that a batch of LED lamps exported to Jordan failed quality checks conducted by local authorities. As a result, the products were banned from sale and had to be returned to the exporter.
According to the test results, several critical aspects of the LED lamps did not meet the required standards. These included the electrical insulation strength, the labeling of terminal connections, the cross-sectional area of the wires, and the external wiring design. Due to these non-compliance issues, the entire batch was prohibited from being sold in Jordan. The importer was instructed to either destroy the goods or return them for proper disposal.
After extensive communication and negotiations with the manufacturer, the Jordanian importer decided to return the unsold 2,053 LED tubes back to China. This move led to significant financial losses for the producing companies, highlighting the importance of adhering to international safety and quality regulations.
The inspection and quarantine department has issued a warning to all export-oriented enterprises, emphasizing that the regulatory requirements for imported products in regions such as the Middle East and Africa have become increasingly strict. Exporters must ensure that their products comply with the technical standards and legal requirements of the destination countries.
