Second, the maximum cooling tower capacity should be determined based on the required cold water temperature, temperature difference, and the number of units used for cooling in winter. This calculation should take into consideration the cooling load demand, the air conditioning cold water temperature, the cooling tower’s capacity under outdoor winter conditions (as provided by the manufacturer), and other relevant parameters such as heat exchanger temperature differences.
Third, if an open cooling tower is used, it should be equipped with a plate heat exchanger. A heat exchange temperature difference of 1–2°C is typically recommended. For closed cooling towers, direct water supply can be used without the need for additional heat exchange equipment.
Fourth, the specifications and number of circulating pumps for winter air conditioning and plate heat exchangers should be carefully matched to the winter cooling conditions. This ensures that the system can maintain stable operation even in low-temperature environments.
