China Mobile, which had previously been rumored to enter the television market, has finally made its move. At the 2017 China Mobile Global Cooperation Conference on November 23, the company officially launched the T1 Smart TV. The product is marketed with the slogan "4K Eye-Protection TV for the Whole Family," offering three screen sizes—43-inch, 49-inch, and 55-inch—to cater to both entry-level and high-end consumers.
In a year when the TV market was experiencing a slowdown, 4K large-screen TVs stood out as a rising trend. Recognizing this opportunity, China Mobile partnered with BOE, China's largest panel manufacturer, to launch the T1 Smart TV. This marks China Mobile’s first branded smart TV, and it doesn't fall behind in terms of specifications.
The T1 features a 4K ultra-high-definition display with a resolution of 3840×2160 and a 178° wide viewing angle, delivering vivid, clear, and lifelike images. It also includes an anti-blue light eye protection function, allowing users to switch to a more comfortable mode with one touch, aligning perfectly with its "4K TV for the Whole Family" concept.
In terms of image quality, the T1 ensures maximum brightness and color gamut, significantly enhancing color accuracy. For audio, it utilizes Dolby audio processing technology to deliver an immersive surround sound experience.
Under the hood, the T1 Smart TV is powered by a dual-core A53 processor clocked at 2.4GHz, paired with a MALI450 quad-core GPU. It comes with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage, making it capable of handling demanding tasks. The device supports multiple interfaces, including HDMI 2.0 and 1.4, USB 3.0 and 2.0, AV, RF, 100M LAN, and audio output. Additionally, it offers multi-screen linkage via DLNA, allowing seamless content sharing across devices.
Entering the large-screen TV market is a significant step for China Mobile, and its collaboration with BOE adds a strong foundation. As the company's first television product, the T1 shows great potential, though the exact pricing has yet to be announced.
