Blocking shutdown allows for different protection functions such as periodic overcurrent, open load or short circuit detection without the need for additional components; instead of latching shutdown, it provides more options for various microcontrollers for power management applications. The IRS2453D is a lead-free device in a 14-pin DIP and SO package that includes a 50% duty cycle, a fixed 1 microsecond (typical) internal dead time, and an integrated bootstrap circuit. The new ICs are designed for the low frequency AC voltage required to drive HID lamps and are also suitable for other high frequency applications such as fluorescent ballasts and power supplies.
