International Motorway Lighting Recommendation

1 Classification of lighting levels In order to determine the quality of the lighting used, the International Commission on Illumination (1995) divides the road into five grades, from M1 to M5, as follows: Road description Lighting grade with separate lanes, no plane crossing and full control of entrances and exits High-speed roads, motorways, fast lanes M1, M2, or M3 highways, duplex lanes M1 or M2 important urban traffic roads, radial roads, inter-regional roads M2 or M3 connecting less important roads, suburban Distribution roads, main roads in residential areas, roads providing direct access to the premises and leading to connecting roads M4 or M5 2 Lighting requirements According to the above lighting classification, the following table gives the requirements for these five levels. Lighting level Application range Lighting level Application range All roads All roads All roads with few or no forks Roads with sidewalks or unlit P1-P4 grades L ( cd?m -2 ) U0=Emin: Eav Ti value ( %) U1=Emin:Emax SR value M1 2.0 0.4 10 0.7 0.5 M2 1.5 0.4 10 0.7 0.5 M3 1.5 0.4 10 0.7 0.5 M4 0.75 0.4 15 NR NR M5 0.5 0.4 15 NR NR 3 Pavement classification Currently, according to the average brightness coefficient of the road surface Q0 and the face-to-face coefficient S1, there are three categories of dry pavement in the world: R, N and C. The R series is mainly based on tests on pavement samples from some European countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. The N series is based on tests on pavement samples from countries such as Denmark and Sweden, where the pavement is usually made of specially processed luminescent materials; the C series is the joint of the CIE and the International Road Congress Standing Committee (PIARC) in 1984. Co-launched in the technical report "Road Surfaces and Lighting". For the roads in China, no samples have been collected for measurement. Generally, for roads in China, it is applicable to R and C categories, see the following table (R): Category Description R1 (1) Asphalt pavement, including 15 More than % of artificial luminescent materials or more than 30% of anorthite-like stones (2) 80% of the pavement is covered with scraping materials, which are mainly made of artificial luminescent materials or 100% by anorthite Stone composition. (3) Concrete pavement R2 (1) Rough texture of pavement (2) Asphalt pavement, containing 10%-15% of artificial light-emitting materials (3) Rough, gravel-concrete asphalt pavement, gravel size not less than 10mm, and Contains more than 60% gravel (4) Newly laid tar sand R3 (1) Asphalt concrete pavement with gravel size greater than 10mm, rough texture such as sandpaper (2) Texture has been polished R4 (1) Used for several months After the asphalt sand road (2) the road surface is quite smooth
