TD is 40nm still waiting for market inspection

While there are only two or three 40nm process mobile phone chips in the global mobile phone chip industry, TD-SCDMA has also entered the 40nm era. On January 19, Spreadtrum Communications Co., Ltd. introduced the 40-nm commercial TD-HSDPA/TD-SCDMA multi-mode communication chip SC8800G, and demonstrated its mobile phone product, the Hisense TD-SCDMA mobile phone T36. This is the world's first 40nm commercial chip. The Hisense T36 also received the network access test of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and China Mobile's storage testing last year. This marks the official entry of the TD-SCDMA terminal chip into the 40nm era.

40nm has more chances for Spreadtrum from 90nm to 65nm to 40nm, and the improvement of the chip technology always corresponds to the two requirements of increased speed and lower price. Currently, 3G's WCDMA mobile phone chips are in the transition from 65nm process to 40nm process, and TD-SCDMA is still in the popularization from 90nm to 65nm. “We also considered step-by-step 65nm, but I believe that it will still be behind the other two 3G systems at the same level as other TD chips. And we have seen some problems with 65nm: It's The current is not particularly low, the indicators are not good enough, and the cost is not low enough. Of course, skipping 65 nanometers to do 40 nanometers is more risky and takes more time and financial input. Li Liyou told reporters that from preparation to research and development success, Spreadtrum spent a total of one and a half years, of which the real implementation was 14 months.
